Really unique and lovely place to stay. The staff were excellent. Charlie is a star in the making creating cocktails linked to the era of the hotel (Art Deco). His colleague, a mountain walk leader, from Huddersfield, was equally engaging and added to the environment in the bar area. The food was excellent.
A lovey stay for a couple of nights between Christmas and New Year with my dog. A fantastic remote location with walks from the door. A lovely warm welcome and despite the awful weather the hotel provided a warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly. I ate in the Brasserie both nights and the food was awesome. I stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms which was clean and spacious with lovely decoration. Would definitely recommend
Stunning views from this beautiful art deco hotel, super dog friendly and all the staff were very helpful. Personally would have liked to see more distinction in the brasserie menu in terms of something less fine dining but that’s a small quibble. Would recommend for 1 or 2 nights make sure you take time to explore Haweswater lake which is stunning
Comforting and fabulous restaurant with promising wines furnished by excellent chef Mark Greenaway and considerate helpful service. Quirky rooms some with gorgeous views although avoid kitchen side on 1st and second floor due to some infrastructure noise that commences early in the morning till service closure. Wooden floors in accommodation can also create substantial noise if guests above are heavy footed above.
What an absolutely superb place. Just a gem. Private. Secluded. Off grid. Only staid for the one night but we had afternoon tea in the main room with the Christmas tree & evening meal & breakfast in the brasserie. All staff lovely & unpretentious. Just perfect .
We had a lovely night at the Haweswater Hotel. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, the food was delicious and the location was excellent for a night off the beaten track! Staff were all lovely, especially the lady who serves us for breakfast (whose name I didn’t catch) she was lovely and had a great sense of humour. To top it all off the hotel is dog friendly which was brilliant.
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Definitely a place to go to get away from everyday distractions.
We had a very relaxing time and the staff were great. We ate in the brasserie one night and the restaurant the second. Our only criticism would be that we would have preferred a less formal menu in the brasserie.
We will definitely return at some point.
Wonderful quirky hotel for some R&R. A real gem. It has all of the Askham Hall vibes with the bedrooms, drawing room and roaring fires. Really dog friendly too.
Great value for money with the Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package.
The fillet steak was divine.
